Installation

Installation
The Kliegpac 9 is designed as a totally portable system.  Therefore, installation has been made as simple as possible.
As with any electrical appliance, the system must not be exposed to rain, or moisture to prevent a fire, or shock hazard.  In addition, the power pack must be located in a ventilated area where the temperatures do not exceed 105 deg. F.

Note:  The power pack is protected with a thermal cut-out switch.  If the temperature reaches 105 deg F, the unit will turn off and will not operate until the temperature falls.

If the system requires repair, refer service to a qualified technician.

Note:  It is recommended that only technicians familiar with the maintenance of electronic equipment attempt to repair the system.  Since hazardous voltages may be present at many points throughout the system,  Care must be taken to avoid personal shock.  If in doubt, contact klieglbros.com  for a qualified technician in your area.

For portable use, only three steps are required before operation:

1.  Provide the proper feeder lines and main circuit protection as indicated in the hook-up diagram (Figure 1).  The diagram includes a terminal designation and connection schedule.

2.  Connect the control cables between the console and the dimmer.

3.  Connect the loads as outlined in the next section.

For permanent installation, physical mounting is required.

1. The Kliegpac 9 power pack can be mounted on a wall with special brackets.  The two mounting brackets are not the same, and must be installed in the proper locations, left and right.

Note: a minimum of six inches should be maintained between packages and a minimum of two inches should be maintained between the wall and the back of the power pack to ensure proper ventilation.  Do not obstruct the air holes in the front or side of the unit.

Secure the mounting brackets to the wall with 3/8" hardware (not supplied).  The studs on the brackets should lineup with the mounting holes of the kliegpac.  Slide the kliegpac over the studs and secure with 3/8-16 nuts and washers.

2.  Two small brackets are provided so the connectors for the control cable can be moved inside the Kliegpac.  This prevents accidental removal or theft of the cable.

To use these brackets, remove the connector from the side of the power pack and remove the connector from the back of the console.  Mount these connectors behind the large opening on the bracket using the 6'32 hardware supplied.  Feed about nine inches of the control cable through the opening in the chassis and place the locking bushing around the cable.  Place the cable-locking bushing in the slot of the bracket, and fasten the bracket over the opening in the chassis with the 6-32 hardware.  Plug the end of the cable into the newly-mounted socket.
